Quite a large area of the Peak District National Park is in Derbyshire attracting walkers, cyclists and horseriders. One of the popular walks is through a limestone gorge at Dovedale. Further attractions include, Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park with a 2 million year old natural limestone cave. There are woodland trail walks and for the adventurous Go Ape activity centre. Treak Cliff Cavern near Castleton has some of the most beautiful cave formations found in the country.
The small market town of Bakewell is famous for its pudding so worth a visit to one of the cafes to taste the local delights. Just outside Bakewell is Chatsworth House, a stately home with an art collection and for children a working farmyard and children’s playground.
On the edge of the Peak District is Matlock Bath, one of the most scenic destinations with attractions for instance, Gulliver’s Kingdom Theme Park, Matlock Bath Aquarium and Arcade. Plus Heights of Abraham, a country park on a hilltop reached by cable car, with show caverns.

The city of Derby lies on the banks of the River Derwent. Places of interest include Derby Museum & Art Gallery and the grade I listed Derby Cathedral. Derby has a number of excellent shopping areas for instance Cathedral Quarter Derby and Intu Derby. In addition the East Midlands Designer Outlet in South Normanton.
On the outskirts of Derby, near East Midlands Airport is Donnington Park motorsport circuit. Nearby is the largest collection of Grand Prix cars in the world and a collection of military vehicles and artefacts from world war 2 at Donington Collections.
Also in Derbyshire is Crich Tramway Village, with tram rides, exhibitions and an indoor play area.

Cottage by the Pond is a converted old milking barn cottage that sleeps 6 and is also wheelchair accessible. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms with a small en-suite between them. The third bedroom is on the first floor. There is also a large wheelchair accessible bathroom on the ground floor.
The well equipped kitchen includes a fridge freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, radio with iPhone dock, hob and oven. The large sitting room with dining area has a TV, DVD and radio, recliner chair and a cosy log stove. There is also a dining table with dining chairs.
The cottage has free Wi-Fi. A cot and high chair are available if required. There is also parking space directly in front of the cottage or the main farm yard.

On the first floor there is a fully fitted kitchen, a large comfortable lounge/dining room with TV and DVD player and a large family bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Bedroom 1 is spacious with a king and single bed. On the second floor Bedroom 2 has a double with en-suite and Bedroom 3 has a king size bed.

Accommodation at the Dog and Partridge is situated in the grounds. All rooms have en-suite facilities plus a TV with Freeview, DVD player, tea/coffee making facilities, clock radio and telephone.
The standard rooms are en-suite and most of them accommodate 1-4 guests with some that sleep 5. The standard family suites are en-suite and have a King Size double with lounge area and a further 2 bunk bedrooms to accommodate 4 adults/children. Outside is a seating area to take in the views and a private wood fired hot tub with lights and air jets.
The Old Dairy Washrooms are 40 metres away offering flushing toilets and wet room style shower rooms. There are also large mirrors, electric sockets and hairdryers available.

The house can sleep 30 people in 9 en-suite double bedrooms (including 1 ground floor bedroom) and 3 sofa beds. All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities with Freeview TV’s and fibre broadband. A travel cot is available if required.
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped for large parties including two range cookers, two microwaves, two toasters, American fridge freezer, two dishwashers, two kettles, washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen has seating for roughly 16 people then the conservatory can sit 30 guests all together around one large table.
There is a children’s corner with PlayStation 3 games and console, board games, books, children’s pool, air hockey and table football, plus some toys for toddlers too! There is also an adult sized table football table, certainly a favourite for both young and old.
Outside has a safe and secure children’s play area, hot tub, charcoal bbq and a lockable shed with room for your bikes and other outdoor equipment. The private car park has space for 25 cars.

Columbine Cottage has three bedrooms, sleeping six plus a cot. It has a large fully equipped kitchen plus a separate dining room and sitting room with an open fire, opening onto a private garden. Upstairs are a double, two twins and large bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. Sorry no pets are allowed in this cottage.
Foxglove Cottage is smaller, sleeping four plus a cot. Downstairs has a sitting room with an open fire and dining kitchen, fully equipped. Access to the garden is along a path shared with the two cottages. Upstairs are two bedrooms (double and twin), and a small bathroom. One pet is welcome to stay in this Cottage.
The cottages are adjoining but entirely separate so can be booked individually or together to sleep family groups of up to 10 plus 2 babies. Travel cots, high chairs and stair gates may be provided if required.
Parking available for 2 cars per cottage.
